Question UNCC’s New Uptown Building – Like It? Hate It?

Last week UNCC announced they would start construction on an “iconic” new building in Uptown. It will house courses for their MBA, Engineering, Health and Human Services, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Arts + Architecture’ programs.

New Release: UNC Charlotte :: Public Relations :: News Release Detail (http://www.publicrelations.uncc.edu/default.asp?id=15&objId=515 - broken link)

So what do you all think of the new building’s design? Personally, I like it because it looks so different.

I think it looks really cool! Apparently it will also be LEED Certified so it's better for the environment, too!

I will take whatever we can get. Looks better than some of the "modern architectureal" monstrocities that are low rise condos downtown.

I think it looks better than many other modern pieces. Functional and environmentally sound are my two focuses. I would like to see what they are going to do about parking. Charlotte has one glaring issue, too many parking lots!

As a student here at UNCC, I think it looks really nice. I think it is also a plus to the quality of high rises in Charlotte's uptown district.

I chose: Like It, because Love It was not an option!

Awesome building! Hopefully this will spur more creativity and design in 1st Ward.

It is good to see the Levine property finally get off the ground~!

I love the building. It brings some modern air to Charlotte's already beautiful sky line. We have one of the most amazing ones in all the US.

I would have chosen LOVE IT too if it were a choice. It's great to see a new style of building in downtown. I can't wait for developers to fill in all of the surface lots around it!
