Need To Move to Another Area of Charlotte, NC or Fort Mill/Rock Hill (apartments)

The company I am employed by most recently relocated to Fort Mill, SC. My current lease is up the last day of August.

Any suggestions on Apartments or Homes for rent (2bdrm/2bth) $700 and under? Good area. I have been in NC for 2.5 yrs, and am familiar with certain areas, although, at a glance they may seem ok, then I see the "area" on the news for one crime or another.

Fort Mill, Rock Hill, and Charlotte (within 30 minutes commute to Fort Mill at the most)

Please advise..I'm not in my "element" (meaning 'home' state )

I used to live in Paces River in Rock Hill. It's off Celanese Road (ex 82) in Rock Hill, adjacent to I-77, and has a lot of basic amenities (grocery stores, restaurants, etc.) in the vicinity. You might also want to check out some of the apartments along Dave Lyle Blvd (ex 79) in Rock Hill.
