Charlotte and Nashville are both similarly sized, however Nashville is ahead in transportation offering both light rail and two more interstates. Charlotte's revitalization is impeccable. The skyline gets better and better every year. Nashville is just beginning to add decent sized towers to it's skyline, which you may not notice as it is a clustered skyline like Charlotte's. Nashville's upscale neighborhoods are much more defined as well as its suburbs which are making a name for themselves (i.e. Franklin and Brentwood). Charlotte has less shopping areas but more upscale shopping. However, Neimens and Nordstrom will be entering the Nashville Market soon. Anyone can compare these two cities all day, but when it comes down to it, it's what you find that you like about the city that decides the move. I don't think either is better than the other.

ariesjow: Nashville is NOT in the Cumberland Plateau! Nashville is famous for being in a valley. The Cumberland Plateau, where I live, is 100 miles East of Nashville. Get your info right!!!

I've never lived in Nashville but I have a few friends that do. The ones that moved there from Charlotte say it has more character and is less conservative. I guess the music industry helps. That's about all I have to add though! I would trade places with you in a sec. I love the Bay Area!

I've lived in Charlotte 29 of my 31 years and I've traveled quite a bit to Nashville on business the past 3 years. Spent a lot of time in the Brentwood area as well as downtown. The size is very comparable.

Nashville's Downtown Night-Life beats the living daylights out of Charlotte. Not even close in my opinion if you are into music (and not just country music).
