I wouldn't advise it. It's not as bad as the Bronx or other big city projects, but you can do better in Charlotte as a single woman.

Really, really not a good idea.
It is pretty bad there...much worse than anywhere I have lived (and I have lived in some dodgy areas!)

NO.
Not much else to be said. It is known to be one of the worst areas in Charlotte.

As other posters have stated it's not the best area right now. I say right now because I'm sure eventually this area will be re-developed as many other areas in CLT have. After all it sits right beside of Elizabeth which is a very high end area of CLT. I would avoid living there at the moment but it would probably be a great place to buy investment property.

OH! I know where you're talking about now that I think about it. Let's just put it this way: I was on my way to work at the medical buildings over there, and basically came the back way due to Mapquest instructions. It was through the area you're asking about. Until I got to the medical buildings, I was making a mental note to myself to have a word with the firm that had sent me there about sending me to dangerous-looking parts of town with no warning. (Once I got to the medical building, it was totally okay, though.)
Long answer made short: No way.
