I am going to tell my wheelchair bound Mom that my brother and I will be moving her this month to Hilton Head SC (Brookdale Living an assisted care home less than 5 minutes from my brother). Not an easy thing to tell her after 92 years in NYC.

Well I guess even at 92 she too can enjoy southern living.
Wish me luck.

Thank you all for your good wishes. Everything worked out great yesterday and I will be escorting her to her new home in two weeks.

Hope everything works out for your mom & you Johne. It can be tough, I know, been there with my stubborn, Italian mother.

OOPS...guess I should have read ALL the posts before replying, lol.

Seriously, glad to hear all went well. When we moved my mom from the Bronx to upstate NY, I thought we were going to have a hard time of it. Take her away from her shops, her church & her friends...Even though she had been mugged once already in a rapidly changing neighborhood, she wasn't too keen on the idea. What made her change her mind was the fact that she would be around her then infant grandson all the time. Having your brother & his family so close to where she's going to be living will make it a much easier transition for her. Good Luck!

Well...I'm off on a road trip today with my son. We're going to a campus tour of Western Carolina this afternoon. Just hope the weather holds out while we're walking around.

That's a great shot! I haven't been to the autofair since I last showed my car there I think it was 2005. The weather must have been great for it this year. Not too hot, and very sunny! Great shot.

Nice work! We went on Sat, although didn't get their until noon as DH had to mow. I was going to PM you so we could meet up but I never knew what time we were going until Sat AM and I remember you and the wife were leaving early. We met up with some of DH's new hot rod friends and had a great time. I bought a big metal Coca-Cola sign, 1963 it's about 5'x2'? Now I have been pricing signs for years and everytime I ask they are in the hundreds, especially for the larger ones. So as usual I set myself up for disappointment and ask how much the sign is on the grass, the reply $20! Pardon me, let me grab a q-tip because I believe the man said $20. He had 2 on the ground and one propped and he said something about one of them being $10. So I walked to the 2 on the ground and said the metal one is $10 and he said no, I said $20 but I'll give it to you for $10. I couldn't whip out my money fast enough, I think I created a spark pulling that 20 out of my wallet. I finally, after years of searching walked away happily with my prized Coca-Cola sign. It was a great day.

Love that sign, Nancy! Where are you going to put it??? Personally, I'd hang it above the mantle, but I'm a HUGE fan of the bubbles.
