Just glad you made it back safely.
I know! There were tons of trucks in the lots going up. There were trucks along the side of the road coming back.

Thanks, I'm glad nothing happened too, since my intent was to pull over for a while & couldn't do it.

Ron, 77/81 just is not viable for me. 95 is a straight shot & a friend gave me a tip-off that makes it much better. I take 85 to 95 to 495/95 in Alexandria. Then I take 895 through the Harbor tunnel in Baltimore & then straight up 95. I cross over to South Jersey from the Commodore Barry Bridge, not the Del Mem.

LOL, last Wed night I was cutting across the unlit country roads of South Jersey, going to my sister's.

Actually, I don't know how many rest stops on 77/81 are affected, but there's a thread on this on the VA forum.

UGH. One of the companies that DH interviewed with last week decided "they don't want to hire someone because they don't have enough work to keep that person busy."

Makes me wonder why they bothered with interviewing him?

So, so frustrated right now. We thought this was going to work out.

Still waiting to hear about the other interview he had.

So sorry to hear about that, I know how frustrating that is. I have actually heard that a few times, actually being offered the position and then having it rescinded.

I hope the second one works out, waiting sucks! Keep us posted.

Obviously the HR Dept are also needing to be kept busy by interviewing and giving hope to people that they don't even need. That sounds like a ridiculous excuse. I should think that they need someone to keep an eye on the time wasters.

It is a small company so he wasn't dealing with anyone from HR... he met with the guy who would have been his boss.

If it were me, I would have rather heard something like "you aren't a good fit for the company because of XYZ" than "we don't have work for you." I get irritated when companies let you get your hopes up only to have them dashed, once again, by lame excuses.

I gotta brag. My son is a very talented photographer, if I say so myself. His big brother has a degree in photography . . . so it must run in the family, lol!

I thought he did an amazing piece of work on this one:

Trikonasana Prep on Flickr - Photo Sharing! (http://www.flickr.com/photos/number-9-dream/3693987741/ - broken link)

Just had to brag a bit. I handed him a camera at age 5. :-)

Can you tell he loves the mountains???

I am so sorry. Will they keep him in the file, tho, in case business does pick up?

It is so stressful to go thru/ an interview . . . you just wonder why they even bothered if they knew they didn't have the level of business to justify hiring someone.

They scare the bejeebers outta me sometimes. Look thru/ my son's Flickr stuff - he has more photos on mountaintops. I mean - I encouraged hiking all his life, but whew . . . they tell me it is not as treacherous as it looks - it is all in the angle . . . I may have to hike up there one day myself just to find out what it is really like.
