Who is your competion in this market?

If I can find my old merchandising info I should have some names of factories for you to price out here in the US. Here's a price breakdown I did in the fashion forum.

garment price breakdown

Shirt $60 retail

store pursed it from manufacturer for $29 (double the cost plus $2, gets the retail cost, adding the $2 key stoning is not always done)

manufacturer's cost from the factory $11.60 (this cost gives the manufacturer a 40% profit on the garment, a garment profit should range from 35% to 50% )

Don't forget, the factory is also making a profit, so it cost less than $11.60 to make a $60 garment sold at retail level

So even when you purchase an item at 50% off, the store is breaking even or coming out at 1 to 2 dollars ahead, still making money on the garment.
Girl, you are good!

I have the marketing info down, but the info on pricing - that is something I have no clue about. Furniture I know. Apparel, not at all. Total novice.

Your breakdown really gives me a good insight. And a lot to ponder.

Thank you so much for sharing that info.

If you all don't cry when you see this . . .

YouTube - Susan Boyle - Singer - Britains Got Talent 2009 (With Lyrics)

I am still boohooing. DH came in and saw me sniffling and carrying on . . . so I re-started it and he teared up. Here we sat, w/ tears streaming down our eyes. Good grief.

Well, dern. It won't let me embed. Says embedding disabled per request. Well, go to youtube directly. This is amazing.

And I don't know why we were all so shocked. have we become so taken in by film star looks that anyone that looks ordinary or acts ordinary we assume that they are just that. She seemed like a lovely lady and already she has lived her dream of singing in front of a large audience. I don't know how many hits she has had on youtube but it's everywhere. Good luck to her.

Well, for me, it was the total effect of this humble person who had made no attempt at "glamming up" for the event (other than her dress) coming on and singing one of the most heart rending songs ever . . . and the lyrics are some of my favorites ever written . . . and they so seemed to be HER story.

She said b/f her performance that she lived alone w/ her cat, and had never been kissed! So when she opened up w/ these words, well, it just slayed me.

I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high
And life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving
Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung, no wine untasted

But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hope apart
And they turn your dream to shame

And still I dream he'll come to me
That we will live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms we cannot weather

I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed.

It hit me that there are so many people around us who are "undiscovered" in some way. People who have gifts to give but never have their moment. And there she was . . . sheesh, I am going to start w/ the waterworks again, LOL!!!
