Time Warner at my house. Am I the only person having problems? Some channels not showing up, others freezing and skipping. The dude is the ONE TECH I have had several times over 7 years who is totally non-helpful and acts like he is mad at the world. Geezzz. I am really not in the mood to deal w/ "attitude" today. My strategy: if he doesn't take care of the problem and tries to give me 20 reasons why somehow this is my fault, just call back tomorrow. This dude refused to give me a new remote last time he was here . . . and the next guy walked in and said "Oh, your remote is outdated; let me get you a new one." Sometimes, you wonder how people keep a job w/ lousy attitudes.

I have all my channels but my guide is wildly inconsistent with it's responsiveness, every once in a long while the whole thing freezes where I have to reboot the box. They suck.

+1 LOTS of problems the last few months with TWC.
Freezes and 'Channel Unavailable' seem to the norm, not the exception.
Anyone have AT&T U-verse?

That's a call. I had to have someone come out as I was getting those on my NHL package. You could turn a channel on at seven in the evening, turn it back on half an hour later and all of a sudden it's unavailable. The guy who came down never even came into the house. I saw him pull in, I know he was around, it hasn't happened since, but he never bothered coming upstairs.

Well, I am one of those today. I walked in this morning to a firestorm. Apparently, the Admininstrative Assistant fell and broke her pelvis over the weekend so she will be out for 6 to 8 weeks.
Mullman, even though I am not the one turning down your loan, I feel the burden of guilt. Our outstanding balances are higher than I've ever seen right now. We have people defaulting on loans left and right, declaring bankruptcy, etc. I have retained some contacts from my commercial credit days and they are telling me the same thing. Bankruptcies and defaults are driving their lending figures at this time. In your case, I don't see how it could possibly be that much of a risk unless they are holding a lot of deeds to foreclosed properties that they are needing to unload. I didn't ask that. Probably should have.
Meanwhile, back on the farm, they won't let me hire a new AA because of the hiring freeze and the lay offs. I could chew nails and spit tacks today.
EDIT: Oh, and that whole "Obama is going to save us all" thing? Ummmm...not buying it. Never bought it. I'm with you all the way on that. No bail outs for the little guy.

Some people are definately not meant for customer service.
On Friday we made a last minute decision to purchase some pine straw, you know the guys just driving around the neighborhood. We've been in the house 2 years now and have been putting it off. 30 bales and 2 hours, whew what a work out and we were pooped. Anyways, the guys just stopped by to see how it went, so I had a good customer service experience today.

ChelleC,
I know that for an absolute fact, my main bank has been hit hard by some things in Union County. I have some time and a few more options - God is good, we'll figure something out. But I am reminded of some of the last words in It's a Wonderful Life: No man is a failure who has friends.

I was a good samaritan today. Stopped by the grocery store and when I was loading the trunk up when I went to grab the kitty liter off the bottom of the cart I didn't recall them scanning it. So I checked the receipt and went back into the store and paid for the liter. That was my good deed for the day, I almost drove away but then decided I didn't want any bad Juju, ha!
