(Moderaters -- please don't flag this, remove this or send me a message about duplicate postings just because I used similar wording here from my earlier posting about BoostMobile! I'm asking about a different cell phone carrier now!!!)
Been using Cricket for just over a year but very dissatisfied with their C/S, location of area stores & coverage outside Charlotte, so want to switch carriers. My cell is my only phone (no landline), no family members to share with & don't want to go with any contracts, especially not 2-year contracts (rules out Verizon, At&T, Alltel & Sprint.)
With a new carrier, just need a phone that's basic, easy-to-use, with long battery life for talking-- don't use or care about texting, pictures, camera, games, or web access on phone! Thinking about switching to TMobile even though they don't really have unlimited month-to-month service like Sprint & BoostMobile (from Sprint.) Seems like TMobile has nationwide coverage along w/ coverage in Europe & throughout the world since they use GMS (not sure that's the right term?) which is worldwide. Also, suppposedly they have high satisfaction levels for their Customer Service & wide selection of phones. And with their My Faves options, probably wouldn't pay that much per month even if other daytime calls not unlimited.
Would like opinions/feedback from people here in Charlotte about TMobile as a cell phone carrier: prices, features, reliability, battery life of phones? Quality of customer service? Using TMobile stores, dealers here in Charlotte? Anyone else here using TMobile who has similar needs as me-- My cell is my only phone (no landline), no family members to share with & don't want to go with any contracts
(Also still considering going with Boostmobile thru Sprint & posted earlier here about that but got very few responses, maybe because it's such a new service, just since Jan 09?)
No complaints about T-Mobile. Been with them maybe 7 years, service transferred from NJ. They have an unlimited plan for $49.99. Also switched to T-Mobile @ Home for $9.99/mo, service w/Verizon was limited in my area (for instance, no Caller ID Call Wait) and too costly. So many options these days ...
Saralee,
Thanks for responding. When you say unlimited for $49.99, is that with a contract? (1 yr or 2yrs?) With My Faves? The My Faves plan without a contract I saw has weekday unlimited minutes starting at 9pm instead of 7pm, which kinda sucks. Plus extra weekday minutes past the monthly allowance are priced at 20 cents/minute which seemed high to me. (any way to get this price per min. lower?) And what do you think of their choice of phones-- prices? features? reliability and battery life?
Also with your $9.88 landline, that has to be connected with high-speed internet? (which I don't have, I use broadband wi-fi which I've had with Cricket for 3 months w/ no complaints.) I would have to switch to Time Warner Roadrunner for internet in order to get the TMobile landline? Do you use TMC Roadrunner-- my roommate previously had bad experiences using it, lots of problems.
Would appreciate additional feedback from you or other TMobile users. Thanks.
Great coverage, great cost and the fast data speeds with t-mobile's new HSPA+ data speeds.
