I am trying to figure out if I can use the Colonel Beatty Francis Park as my reception and wedding site, I have 150 guests. The main room is 40' x 45' and it says it will seat 120 banquet style and 250 theater style. I am wondering if anyone has any creative ways of maybe mixing the two styles of seating to be able to sit 150 and still have a small dance floor...is this possible with this room style??? Thanks!!

Are you having a full sit down dinner? If not, if you're doing a buffet or appetizers, I would think you could just go ahead and set up tables for say 90-100 since not everyone would be sitting down at the same time.

I have delivered wedding cakes there before for about that sized wedding. I thought there was someone who could help you organize it. I would think they should have some kind of sales staff that would have just the general information.

I disagree w/ that. Even with buffet style, everyone will still sit down during speeches and during eating at the same time. You definitely don't want to have ppl with no seats.

Well yes it is a buffet type meal but I do not want any of my guests not having seats if they want to take advantage of them. Any better ideas, anyone??? Hopefully it will be able to happen! Thanks for any replys!

Default I use to be a wedding planner..

there is nothing worse then having a space too small. Either pick a different venue or cut your guest list. You want less people then what the space can actually hold.

UGH, I agree. My cousin had her very fancy, expensive wedding reception at too small of a venue and we all came away with hearing damage from being right next to the band (the room was so small you couldn't get away from them far enough just to enjoy them - forget trying to make conversation with your table mates!) NOT a good time.

Default haha

exactly! I would not even plan a person's wedding back in the day if their guest limit was even close to what the room can hold....forget it!

Great place for a wedding reception!!! I have seen many weddings take place there. I hope you have a nice sunny day and they get to use the gazebo for the exchange of vows. The hall will accomodate your 150 guests in either fashion. Becasue of its popularity of weddings, I would call the park and see if you can contact someone familiar with using these accomodations.
