Maybe we could send him flowers in the hospital!

Nice attempt to stir up ill feelings and start another negative debate. Do you really want that? I angered you previously when I spoke about how nice and friendly I thought people in Chicago were. You argued the point and told me if I said that in Chicago I would probably end up in a hospital for speaking that way. That was a surprising response. Any bar in Chicago that I would go to would welcome the compliment. Someone else (Londonlawyer)called people in Chicago 'a bunch of hicks (unjustifyably), but he didn't say it was because of a NASCAR track as you mentioned. As far as insults, I could say the same as you about newcomers in this area being stupid enough to go into a bar and calling locals a bunch of hicks. However, I wouldn't send them hospital flowers and the thought itself is somewhat hicky and insulting? The people I know from Chicago have shown to have the adaptability and social graces to blend in and be happy in other places. OOPs! sorry for the insult.

Let's just say that if you knew real Chicagoans from the city, and if you had spent any time in the city, you wouldn't talk like that. Enough said.

I have spent a reasonalble amount of time in Chicago. My ex-wife was a model and promoter for Kalvin Klein fashions therefore we spend quite a bit of time in the city around the loop where met many locals. I suppose that the Chicagoans with which we associated were of a different breed than your associates. Besides that, I spent some navy time in Chicago where I met other great local people. Sorry if my good experiences with Chicagoans is insulting to you. It is the first time I have insulted anyone by complimenting people from the place where they hail. There are bad people everywhere. I seek out the good ones personally. And yes, this issue is a wet noodle. Let's drop it.

At least you guys support your teams
I can't believe how you fill "b of a" stadium with what... only a population of 700000. I would go to a bears game and still see some empty seats with Chicago having 9+ million in the area.

But, not a Cubs game. You would not see empty seats at a Cubs game, now would you?
Remember, Chicago is primarily a baseball town. That is something that I miss here. No real baseball.
