It's almost time for strawberry picking...has anybody noticed if the berries are ready yet?

In Western Union County, a favorite is Hunter Farms in Weddington.

WOW..makes me want to move NOW so I can get in on the season. Are they all pick your own or only if they say PYO? My son saw cucumbers and he would love to pick his own...just one more reason to leave NY!!

Most farms also have fruit stands up near the road with freshly picked fruit for those who don't have the time or inclination to pick their own. I am sooo excited we are coming into this time of year - we eat strawberries every day!

We planted some as soon as we moved in a couple of weeks ago. And they're ready! I just checked them this morning, but I dare not pick them until my kids get home from school.
