Were moving to Lawson in June-any great Summer Camps to recommend? The only thing I know that is well-respected is Siskey Y. My son has gone to Harris Y Summer Camp his whole life and loves it-so something comparable would be great. Also-he'll be going to Kensington Elem., any good afterschool programs near by? They need to be open until 6:30pm when I get home... Thanks!

From Lawson, the Morrison YMCA will be closer than the Siskey, I think. The pool there is phenomenal!

My daughter went to Camp Thunderbird for 3 yrs until she was 15 yrs old and she loved it and considered training to be camp leader. My son will go for the first time this Summer (he is 13) for 2 weeks. Camp is located only 25 minutes from Weddington on Lake Wylie.

Ok...let me clarify. Any Summer Camps for a 10 year old that are NEAR the Weddington/Waxhaw/Lawson area. Day Camp is what we are looking for. Any suggestions on places to call would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

Default camps

Gabrielle, If you find out anything good please let me know.
I am moving toward the end of June hopefully. we are looking in Millbridge and Cureton which is close to Lawson (I think) and I have been trying to find a camp for my son too. So far the Siskey Y seems like it would be good.

Camp Eagle Rock (Day Camp) is part of Siskey Y and is very good. My son enjoyed it and my daughter just got hired as a camp leader
