anyway, we can't stereotype people just because they're from a certain place.. that's what usually seems to happen.

and i also hope i am not considered trash, as you put it ani, simply b/c i am from new york, and i RENT in charlotte, and my job is NOT local here. i guess i don't put pennies into the system and i am trash.
PLEASE, don't fuel the fire anymore. It's starting to sound like you're trying to pick a fight.
If you had met Ani you would definitely not have posted this.
I am a Northerner, Ani is a Southerner (a very classy one). She has been nothing but welcoming to me and my family.
You're barking up the wrong tree, IMO.

Well, it seems people don't care how high our unemployment is - they are still arriving. And you know - New Yawkers have started referring to Charlotte as the Sixth Burrough . . . so it is inevitable. But honestly - I cannot fathom how New Yorkers could be truly happy here. We don't even have a big museum. I find that a huge deficit and only wish I were a billionaire and could endow a robust museum for Charlotte.

Maybe our New York brethren will bring more great Italian food and some bakeries and bagelries with them. After all, people could move here and start businesses and that would benefit us all!

But if people are coming expecting to find work . . . wow. Just - wow.
Once the NASCAR HOF opens I think the museum scene will change. Also the Afro-American cultural center, Bechtler Museum they are building should greatly enhance the museum scene in Charlotte. But if you were a billionare and I became one, we'd have to agree who would work on what: one to build cultural amenities, the other to buy businesses, build tall building in multiple areas (different skylines) and relocate them here. LOL!!!!

ADAVI - I will make a pact w/ you on that!!! I only wish I had the money to endow museums here. I think our Afro-American cultural center could bring us a lot of interest from visitors, especially. I would also like to see more w/ Native Americans.
