I weep.

This is what i take from the OP and this whole thread

People are afraid that Charlotte is loosing the southern identity.

Well, that is what happens when a place grows

does nj loose its identity a little bit when the millionaire from Dallas or Seattle buys a vacation house at the jersey shore? yes it does

what charlotte is going through right now is what every city with any size has already gone through

go post in nyc and ask how transplants are taking over manhattan
go post in austin and ask how transplants from cali are taking over austin

it will not kill charlotte to have some people from other cities living there. oh, the terror that you people must have when you see a transplant. wow, someone that is moving to charlotte that does not embrace the bible belt southern culture or say ya'll. EVERYONE RUN!!!!

i have the OP's answer. if you dont like how charotte is becoming a big city because of all the transplants then move. there are many of small towns where you can have your southern culture.

it is threads like this that is the reason why every region in the u.s. thinks that the south as a whole is behind

Then all 'youse guys' will follow me there [again] for cheaper living and lower taxes.
Us Southerners generally like less government, remember the Civil War was really about States rights vs a huge Federal monster.
Look at our national problems now.
And this is not about Left vs Right, they both are way out of control.

My family has been here since before the Declaration of Independence, why should I move?

How about you move?

Then why exactly are people from OH, MI, NJ, & NY moving here in droves?
Our 'backward' living is extremely desirable, it seems, just read this forum for a week.

Explain.

Per this forum, I would deduce that you are in the minority.
Most transplants from the North, love it here and will never go back.

When all else fails, say the other person is lying and make up some numbers...

Go check out the LI forum and you'll see TONS of people who have moved back to NY. They say that they made the mistake of just seeing smaller dollar signs down in NC, and didn't realize the culture would be so different. And oh yeah, they missed having good pizza and bagels too I'd say nearly 75% aren't happy with the move on the LI forum.
