Real Estate Look Up
Hello..my husband and I are relocating to Charlotte in June. I was wondering if anybody knew of websites that told the price of recent sales in a neighborhood? I know that Trulia and/or Zillow do this, but I was hoping to find a local real estate web site that gave more indepth information. I have seen websites that actually give the asking vs. purchase price. Although, I haven't found this kind of info in Charlotte yet. I also knew websites in other cities that gave photo tours of the houses that have sold. That was really helpful.
Thanks in advance.

if you look up Mecklenburg County P.O.L.A.R.I.S. you can access the GIS-based city real-estate server.
It lists asking price by year, but you have to do some navigating to find it. Try searching your addresses of interest and clicking "layers" and looking for the toggle switch for "recent sales". Be sure to 'apply' the layer (button at top of layers). There is a 30-120 day delay from sale to its posting usually.

Thanks so much for your replies. I have used the Real Estate Lookup site before but was only using it for tax purposes. I didn't use the Market Analysis Link--thanks for the help.

Also some of the collar counties have websites similar to Mecklenburg's.

if you look down at the bottom of the page, on the left hand side, you can find a market analysis to determine the correct pricing of the home

Yes it is a good site. Just so you are aware of the limitations, this site does not include if there were any seller concessions, for example, closing costs paid by the seller.

The only way to get a true property value comparison for an individual property is through a local Realtor or to have an appraiser get you the info. The websites that you go on are all county data based and are not local enough to get a real value.
