No Easter Bunny at Southpark!!
So we got our 9 month old daughter all dressed up today to go to get her picture made at Southpark Mall. We were going to make a day of it to include lunch at the Cheesecake Factory, shopping and to close it out...picture with the Easter Bunny.
We walked over where we had her picture made with Santa and no Easter Bunny I went to Guest Services and asked them and was told they didn't have a bunny there for pictures with kids!! I WAS SHOCKED!!! It somehow seems "Un American"!
Don't people get their pictures made with the Easter Bunny anymore???

I've seen the bunny at every other mall I've been to lately.

Okay, that's just weird. What did mall management say???
Some of our best Santa Claus and Easter Bunny pics came from South Park over the years. I can't imagine them not having the Easter bunny there

How odd. Maybe the mall cut costs and didn't want to pay for the Bunny. I find that really sad. Such cute pictures I have of kids w/ Easter Bunnies!!!!

I'm sure someone was offended that we had an Easter Bunny at the mall and complained. This happened in MA to Santa and they got rid of him.

I'm having a hard time believing that is what happened, though I know it has happened other places. But this is still the Bible Belt I bet Ani is right, mall cutbacks.

Just like they won't say "Merry Christmas", it has to be "Happy Holidays".

I wrote the "Mall" an e-mail. The lady at Guest Services said they just didn't have one and said she was sorry, and that they have had a lot of requests this year for the bunny. I truly thought she was joking.
I check the Carolina Place Mall website and they have a bunny. We'll just have to load up and go there tomorrow.
Unreal....

From a marketing standpoint, eliminating the Easter Bunny photo opp is a big mistake. Especially w/ the economic downturn, retailers in general - and Malls in particular - need to come up w/ methods to entice potential shoppers. For every 30 minutes a person spends in a Mall, the estimate is that he/she will spend at least $10. So even if people come in not intending to shop, they usually do end up buying something, even if only a Starbucks coffee.
So . . . it seems like very poor management if the decision was due to cost-savings.
