Thanx, guys, for sharing the day with us! I would have loved to have been there w/ you - was definitely there in spirit.
You were where you needed to be Ani. There were plenty of folks that wanted to join us, but couldn't. People that were driving down Tryon, people working construction on all the new buildings rising downtown, people in the towers & I bet a few at the Fed too. During the rally I looked around & there were folks in business suits. The older gentleman in the kilt & the man dressed like a colonist really stood out for me.
The best part was they left the grass nice and clean in front of Old City Hall...almost couldn't even tell they were there! Unlike the inauguration folks on our nation's Mall.
What I don't understand is where was all this outrage by the "conservatives" when their man, GWB was running up record deficits, wasting a trillion dollars in Iraq and beginning the bailouts of failing banks and AIG. I bet if McCain was POTUS, and the spending was like this, they wouldn't be out there...I have also noticed another thing about these so called tea parties around the country, no minorities were involved...I really don't think these will do anything, but kudos to you all who went for expressing your freedom of speech and assembly...some of us had to actually work though.
