I am thinking about relocating to North Carolina, specifically looking into the Huntersville area. The postings on this forum has been very informative and Huntersville has come up as one of the best places to live in Charlotte.
I am a teacher and will be transferring, my problem is I have been wondering if it would be a good move in Huntersville and will I feel comfortable??? Is it a multiple of races or should I look for a different location in Charlotte that is more interracial??? and Safe of course...
Please help, would like to move by next year, so I am starting my research now..
You'll be fine. I'm Black and know of Black folks that have lived in the area for years or just for a spell while on assignment in Charlotte and I've heard no complaints from them.

I really hate reading these sort of posts. Race should be the last of your worries anywhere in America. Its almost 2010 already. Slavery ended over 40-50 years ago!
I agree with you there! When I read the thread title I kinda chuckled to myself a little, because I read it as having a tone similar to something like "Loch Ness Monster in Lake Norman?????" -- as if it were just something unbelievably odd. Thought perhaps someone was so surprised at having spotted an actual black woman in Huntersville that they just had to start a thread to see if anyone had experienced anything similar lol. Was glad to see I was wrong. But it is a little sad that people still find it necessary to ask about this -- even though I do understand why someone would be concerned.
Anyway, as far as I'm concerned, everyone is welcome. As long as they have a job.

Race is definitely the least of your worries....
