Default Finding larger rental home intown?

I am currently living in Mooresville and can't take the unpredictable traffic on I-77 anymore! We'll be moving into town early this summer and I have been trying to find a good rental house that is a bit larger than what I am seeing available online. I am willing to spend the money, but can't seem to find a good source other than meca properties and they generally don't have anything as large as I'd like. I am looking for a 2500- 3000 sf home that will somehow allow a home office, would like to have a garage, and be in the Eastover or Selwyn Elementary areas, Alexander Middle, Myers Park HS zones.

Does anyone have suggestions about how to find a good rental in the Myers Park, Dilworth, or Cotswold areas?

I have been watching craigslist.com also, but nothing that size has shown up.

Any assistance is appreciated!

Those are very choice areas in respects to a rental home of that size. You can have a Realtor check the MLS for you, or try to see if you can find something through a public IDX feed.

Also do a search for Charlotte Property Management companies. I can personally vouch for http://www.TalleyProperties.com as they take good care of their tenants.

Your best bet to find what you are looking for is probably http://www.exhm.com

I believe this is the new name for the TR Lawing and Allen Tate executive home rental and relocation service partnership. Allen Tate is one of the stronger brick and mortar firms and has a pretty good reputation.

TR Lawing however is a completely different story. They are the property management side of it. They are very unethical in respects to how they treat their clients... both renters and property owners.

My company used to send a lot of business their way in 2005. Many of the renters complained about lack of service, rudeness, erroneous late fees, etc. They treated our investors just as bad. They illegally withheld a large sum of money from one of them. We had to sue them to get our clients money. They even harrassed one of our tenant/buyers for 2 MONTHS after they had PURCHASED the home, trying to collect "rent" and threatening them with eviction. It took a letter from our attorney explaining that tenants who BUY the home DON'T PAY RENT!

Considering this is for "higher end" homes, attention to service may be better. You just need to be cognizant of the company who will be taking your check each month.

Good Luck, I hope you find something that suits.

Do not use TR Lawing. When I moved here, the house was not ready. All of the utilities were off and the grass was as high as the windows. I cancelled the contract and they did not return any of my money including pet deposit and we never moved in. That was the worst experience ever. We spend a month in a hotel until I could find anothe rental. I used H & L rentals. I have had no problems but I don't know if they have any homes in the area that you are searching for.

I wish someone would have warned me about TR Lawing. I spend twice as much money moving because of they.

I also would check out craigslist and type in the desired neighborhood and things should pop up that might be of interest! Good luck Dilworth, Elizabeth, Myers Park, Eastover and Cotswold are great areas.
