Default Places to visit in 1 hr drive from Charlotte.

Hi,

My BIL is visiting us tomorrow from Florida. HE wants to visit and test out his new Camera. So can somebody suggest some scenic drive from S Charlotte within about 1 hr drive. Not interested in beaches or lakes please.

TIA

Crowders Mountain for a nature hike perhaps? Exit 13 off of I85 south.

Oops, just saw you want a scenic DRIVE -

okay, here's one I like...Go to Mint Hill and take exit 44 off of I485 to Brief Rd - drive Brief until it intersects with Fairview, take a right and head back to Mint Hill on Fairview - very nice ride in the countryside

Check out Asheville, the Biltmore estate is simply amazing this time of year. It gets you the best of Daniel Stowe as well as the forest that you Have in Asheville. It might be a little farther than you want, but it is worth it.
