Mooresville, NC or Fort Mill, SC
Help,
We are looking at relocating to either Mooresville, NC or Fort Mill, SC. We have spent time at both locations. We really like both. Have made the list of pros & cons and nothing is a deal breaker for either area.
The schools kids would be attending are Brawley Middle & Lake Norman High. Schools in both Mooresville & Fort Mill are rated a 10 by great schools.
Does anyone have any suggestions on which area to pursue.
Thanks for you help,
Yankee

Well, seeing as how those two areas are quite a distance apart . . . the question would be - where are you going to be working? Cause that would be the deal breaker - commute times.

The schools you speak of aren't in Mooresville, they are in Iredell County. Two different school systems are in play here. Mooresville Graded School District and Iredell-Statesville Schools.
Although there is a bill in the state General Assembly now that would only fund one school system per county.

But are you saying that Brawley and LNHS are NOT terrific schools? I have only heard/read positive things about both of them.

I believe NC is dropping the annual vehicle inspection (or did I just dream this one up?) Thought I had heard that . . .

In SC you don't have to take a written drivers test(assuming you already have a drivers license), all you do is transfer your previous states license over.

I vote for Fort Mill. It's closer to uptown (if you need/want to go for any reason) and a stone's throw from south Charlotte, which offers many great amenities. I live just over the border in SC and am so glad I chose this area. I'm on the run a lot and I love having so much at my fingertips. Choosing where to live is an individual thing. It all depends on your lifestyle. Keep doing your research and you'll come to a conclusion that feels right for you!
