Which DMV location Is Quickest
I'm looking for any suggestions as to which DMV office is the fastest. I just moved here from South Carolina and have to get a new drivers license. I don't want to spend the entire day at the DMV, so any suggestions as to which location is the best would be greatly appreciated. Some people have said that I can expect to spend the entire day there, but I can't really afford to take a day off of work for something like this.

I also have to go this week. Are their any curveballs I should expect? I have heard about the written test being silly, but what about required docs. I am bringing an aresanal. I have original BC, DL from IL, Paystubs with NC addy, Lease agreement in NC, SS Card, Car reg, and Car insurance. Anything else I should bring? I have heard that these places are hell.

As long as you have your car insurance and ID's, proof of address..you should be set. There are cheat sheets online for the DMV out here. Or take the test online and just copy the answers...=P Some googling will help you out BIG TIME.

If you are willing to drive a little, Mooresville is usually pretty quick. You can also make an appointment there (as I think you may be able to do at other locations as well).

I've never seen Monroe DMV "dead" I haven't been in over a year, but the wait is sometimes 2 hours or more. I got there at 1:45 pm with my son and we were told we couldn't even put our names on the list because the wait was already past closing time. If some have seen it "dead", I'd contact them and ask what day of the week and what time they went.
Never had more than a 10 minute wait in Polkton... Of course it's an obscene drive from North Charolotte.

That doesn't look too bad, just a straight shot up 77?
