I have a thought ...

Since I don't know if we would know what you might consider "GOOD" and "REAL" maybe you could tell us what bakeries/shops you've already tried that don't meet your criteria.

Probably hasn't even been able to find ANY bakeries!

There is a really good bakery in Mooresville, but I don't believe they are Italian. So they may not produce the particular goodies you were looking for. However, they do beautiful cakes and are terrific to work with.

I guess what I mean, for example, is that a place like Nona's:

Nona's Sweets LLC: Home; Cakes, Cookies, and Sweets with Upscale Appeal

calls themselves an Italian bakery, but I have no idea if the OP has already ruled them out.

Oh, Nona's! Now I am no expert on Italian pastries (never met a cannoli I didn't like) . . . but their turnovers and scones are delicious. Great suggestion.

La Patisserie is right near my house. I've only had cakes from there. They're French & a little bit pricey for their location, but what I've had was delicious. Not sure if they make pastry or not. Nona's was reccomended in an earlier thread, but I have not tried them yet.

Let me know what you think of them, if you try any of these places.

Rosie, i am telling ya, you need to make cannolis and sell them wholesale to other bakeries that don't carry them. I swear - people would go for it - big time. "Rosie's Cannoli's - Some Lovin' from the Oven."

I STILL haven't been there, and I want to so badly! I drive by it quite often, but it's never the right time to stop in. One of these days...
