Default I need to rent a home!!

Hello. I am having trouble getting any help to locate a home to rent. I am driving to Charlotte on May 18 to look for a home to rent. I have called several "leasing companies" that are listed on realtor.com. The few of them that have returned my call have explained to me that they cannot even show me a home until I have local employment.
I believe that I need a place to live and a permenant address to get a job?? Am I off base here?? My plan is to come out there and find a home, then return to Texas to get my son and the Uhaul truck. I have already sold my home here and would be willing to pay months in advance of rent to satisfy a landlord until I get a job. I have no doubt that I can secure employment fairly quickly. I feel that I need to get a home, and get my son into a daycare before I can go to work.
I am looking for a 3/2 home in or around the Concord area. I would like a garage and a fenced yard. I will be in town to view properties during the week of May 18.
Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions or rental property.
I look forward to moving to the Charlotte area.
Loren

You opened a can of worms with that statement.

Did you try TR Lawing? When we moved down here they did not list that as a requirement for us.

What profession are you in that you think you'll so quickly secure employment??

What type of work are you looking for? Jobs are sparce here, just as everywhere else, right now. That could play a large part in where to settle.

Actually TR Lawing was one of the two companies that replied to me and explained that thay would be the case.
I am not depending on employment for financial needs. But, I already have leads and do not feel that it will be difficult.
I am settling in Concord because I will be attending a college there.

My mistake, it was not TR Lawing, it was Landis. I have not gotten a return message from TRLawing just yet.

They are kind of a pain to get to return messages. I recall that they almost never answered emails and i would have to call a few times b4 they called back, so definitely call them, don't email, and call a couple times if you have to.
