A lot of the neighborhood children have been saying how there is nothing to do on weekends and after school particularly that there is no place close by where to go fishing and to learn about conservation.also i have noticed that there really is no formal activites center for the youth in marshville like there is in monroe where they have a YMCA i belive that if we work as a community we can provide a solution to these issues were we can fund these without having to pay a membership to belong. Does anyone else want to get together and discuss what we can do to provide a safe, fun, and help to better our own community.

Wingate University has a lot going on nearby. Lots of different summer camps (sports, science, etc.) They used to offer swimming lessons there.

I have met the mayor of Marshville and I know he would be happy to hear from you about getting those things started in Marshville. He's a very enthusiastic and motivated guy, so give him a call and get the ball rolling!

I always like driving through Marshville...Home of "Country Musics Finest" Randy Travis. Has he ever come back to Marshville?

You will like Marshville if you give it a try. My grandparents and great grandparents lived there. So, like - as far back as the early 1900's. I found it one of the most beautiful places to raise children. SO many wonderful people there too. Went to Marshville every summer of my life as a child and young adult. Check with Carl Webber, the Town Administrator, he knows a whole lot about the town. www.marshvillenc.org. It's kind of like Mayberry, only, I think even better.
