I see new construction in the Northlake area all the time. I am wondering, are they trying to develop it into an "urban" pocket, like South Park?

I dont know if it will be like South Park but I see what you are seeing at least in the past six years but with the bike lanes it may turn out to be a very nice area.

You have to remember - the area around Northlake Mall is fairly "new" whereas SouthPark has been under development for 40 plus years.

If you look at the demographics...Huntersville, Lake Norman, Cornelius, Davidson they do not have
anything like southpark or carolina place mall. Strategically it makes good sense to build it close
to where the money is and available land with access to I-485 and I-177. Look to see big things happening around there.

I think of the Northlake area as the Ballantyne of North Charlotte, eventually anyway.
