Need some help Ursela, there are plenty of nice neighborhoods here, what price range are you looking at? Do you know where you or your husband will be working yet? Your answers will help everyone help you. And Charlotte isn't that big... you will more than likely wind up in one of the "ring" cities - Matthews, Weddington, Huntersville, MintHill or a half dozen others.

I live in Cedarfield which is in Huntersville. It is a great neighborhood and some homes are large enough in size and yards that may suit you.

A month before we are to move in Charlotte my husband plans on posting his resume and I will be transferring from Jefferson county public school transportation to the school bus transportation in charlotte. We will be renting until we decide if charlotte is where we permanently want to call home. We are willing to pay 1400.00 per month on a house. Thanks for answering and sorry it took so long.

Charllote is not a "big city" compared to Louisville. They are pretty similar in size. Charlotte has many great safe, neighborhoods. I would not worry about crime in Charlotte, especially its suburbs.

Maybe, but Charlotte is more urban imo.

We moved from southern California to the Charlotte area 3 years ago. We love it! We discovered the Union County area and fell in love with it. We live in the Waxhaw/Weddington area. For that big family of yours you can get a new 5 bedroom home for the $350,s and your kids will go to the best schools in Union County! Check out the website Carolina Buyers Market They can help you find just the right neighborhood for you and your familys needs. Hope you make the move! You'll love it!
