Is it worth it? The Cotton Fields to Skyskrapers exhibit sounds interesting but is it short on details or does it have enough detail that you actually learn something? Any other museums in Charlotte that I should consider visiting?

I think it IS worth it - I found the story of Charlotte and her beginnings to be very informative and I think they've done an excellent job with all the exhibits.

For an acutal ART museum do visit the Mint Museum on Randolph Rd - there are some great old masters there

Also - the Hezekiah Alexander homesite at the Museum of History - definitely worth it to understand Charlotte's 18th C roots.

I took my girls (13 and 11 at the time) to Levine Museum of the new south last yr and we all got a lot out of it. If you go they also have a special display upstairs that's always changing, but that too was well worth it.

3 thumbs up from us.

i think the Levine Museum was worth it as well. There is a coupon in the Entertainment book if you have one of those.
For what it's worth, a few reviews from Yelp

I love the Levine. It's the first place I go when someone from out of town is visiting and I'm gonna show them around. And when I've gone on Sundays, it's been free.

I had not heard of the Hezekiah Alexander homesite. My parents will be visiting in the next year and I may save going there for when they visit. My dad will be bored but I know my mom will love it. I do have an Entertainment book. I didn't think of looking in there for discounted admission. I will definately use that.

Thank You,
Daniel
