I left my office in Dilworth at 4:55 yesterday..It'd just started to rain..I drive down Park Rd. to get home in the Carolina Place area..it stopped raining 5 min later and allllll the way down Park Rd the blackest of clouds were following me..very very eerie..I got home around 5:25 and it hadn't even rained at my house..in fact it didn't even rain until 7:30-8:00...

my dh on the other hand left the same office at 5:40 and it took him an hr to get home..by then..two places on Park Rd were shut down due to flooding..

this just boggles my mind to think that in 40 hrs enough rain fell to trap ppl in their cars

YEP. Welcome to the Queen City. Too much cement . . . not enough greenways and setback around creeks/flood zones . . . and a sewer system that is antiquated. At least, that is my take. Others may have different ideas as to the cause.

I am visiting Charlotte this weekend to scope out the area for my relocation. Should I be worried?

I've got 2 bunnies in my yard, and I could probably find 2 squirrels. Got room for 'em?

I would be alert of your surroundings especially during down pours for low level flooding. I cant tell you what to do since once your in it, your in it. Try to keep your driving to a minimal
Good luck make the best of it this weekend

Our creek beds are full and gutter the drains may be clogged due to recent storms.

You Southerners and your lack of cement and greenways. It wasn't like this up North.
