Earlier than 7 a.m. would be nice for those who are not 9 to 5ers. I have to be at work by 7:30-ish. Heck, fast food places recognize this and open at like 5:30 am. Six a.m. would be nice.

For those of you looking for diners, I found another one in Concord this week. It's called the Concord Family Diner Restaurant and is on 29 near the Carolina Medical Center. It's certainly not a fancy place, but they have a decent menu, serve breakfast all day, low prices, karaoke some evenings and serve alcohol. They've got a bar area but most of the place is typical diner-style with sparkly red booths and old movie posters.

I had dinner at Big View last night. It was packed. There were a lot of children. Apparently low prices bring out the families. I didn't think that the prices were high or outrageous. The food was very good. We had the NY Disco Fries, Onion Rings, my wife had the Rueben & I had the Mexi-Cali Burger. I had 2 vanilla milkshakes with toasted coconut & caramel. Talk about sugar shock!!! I also had rice pudding for dessert. The service was pretty quick. We had Sarah, short Sarah she told us as there are two Sarahs serving. Our bill came to $50.00 including tax and tip. We'll go there again but hopefully at a time other than the prime dinner slot.

I don't think they would have enough business that early to justify being open. It's a very big restaurant w/ lots of employees.

I've been there twice and it was really good. I did not think it was expensive. It's not a greasy spoon, but a casual upscale restaurant that happens to have the word *Diner* in their name and a few menu offerings that reflect that.

Their desserts are AWESOME!!

Need to modify some of their signage outside. Breakfast is only served till 11 am even though they have 24hr breakfast signs up.

Had their breakfast this morning. Wasn't anything too special. Homefries barely had any flavor and they were not cooked fully enough. Pancakes were no better or worse than the "just add water" ones from grocery store. Coffee had burnt taste to it. Dessert case still looked good though

Are you sure about that? I drive by there almost every day and never noticed a sign that said 24 Hour Breakfast. AFAIK they were never planning on being a 24 hr diner..

I'll check it out tomorrow.

Went there today for breakfast after mass and drove around the whole outside of the building. It definitely does not say 24 Hour anything anywhere.

I had the Challah French Toast and it was awesome, huge, thick slices of real Challah bread. Yummy!

That's pretty much the nail on the head. For a casual restarurant the prices are not bad. However, for a Diner, they are priced high.

We have only been once and enjoyed the food, but the first thing out of our mouths was... this place is expensive for a Diner. I know that we are not the only ones as a lot of my neighbors will not go back b/c they also feel it is not a diner in any way.

So the mistake they made is putting the word Diner in their name. Nothing about that place is a "diner", including the pricing. If they took the word "diner" from the name they would get a lot less kickback. Then again they seem to be doing good business, so they must not really care.

Now that we know the deal and that it is a "diner" in name only we accept the place for what it is and wouldn't stay away from it b/c of that. Our experience last time was good, so we will go back unless that changes.
