When I was working in Indian Trail we went quite frequently to La Unica for lunch. It's a small world.

So far haven't found anything to replace it. DH and I like our salsa hot and I mean nose running, mouth on fire that a margarita doesn't even extinguish it. Our waiter made us a special blend.

It's tough to find a good chili reno too.

La Plaza, in so. calif, best ever.

+1

Been eating there for over 20 years (and miss the old location off Providence).
They are under new ownership, as of last fall, and are doing great.

I work nearby and stumble in there for lunch a few times a month.
I love their salsas + limes.
Hmmm.....maybe lunch there today.

I think about that quite a bit and wonder when I am out and about if I saw someone from the forum and had no idea.

THIS +1. I miss Wahoo's and Rubio's. Have you been to CABO FISH TACO, Baja Seagrill Not exactly the same but pretty good. It would also be nice if someone would open a Baja Fresh here. It was good for a quick fix.

Good advice, there is NO place in Charlotte that delivers true, authentic and palatable Mexican food.
Compare Foods is a huge grocery store that boost a lot of the ingredients used in Latin cuisine, including Mexican.

PS: Cabo Fish Taco is horrid, been there once -although years ago- and my fiancee got sick, and the food I thought was way overrated.
