Default Does anyone know if Charlotte has plans to get a Whole Foods?

Just wondering if Whole Foods will be coming to the Charlotte area? Anyone have the inside dish? (pun intended)

I wish. I have heard of plans in the past, but last I looked, there was not one planned for Charlotte on their site. How rude. Earth Fare is nice, but it's no Whole Foods.

We were supposed to...but that was when things were booming...looks like plans have changed. I do miss Whole Foods but we have just about every other healthy food chain here...Trader Joe's...Earth Fare...Fresh Market.

They had a land deal somewhere in the Park Rd. area that fell through. Plans were to open one in 2009, but that has changed. I think with the uncertainty in the marketplace it may be a while. I think they still have some issues pending with the govt. because of the Wild Oats acquisition.

We have one in Nashville. I used to go to the ones in Los Angeles. The new Whole Foods since buying Wild Oats is egregiously expensive now.
