Default Need real estate suggestions.....

We will likely be relocating to Charlotte in the next few months and I'm hoping some of you out there, either realtors or those who know the area really well, can suggest some areas we might look for a house. Here is what we're looking for:

Area: S/SW Charlotte (job will be near Arrowood Rd and 485 and looking for less than 30 min commute)

Lot: at least one acre (preferably not a "subdivision" with HOA dues)

Home: ranch or 1 1/2 story (w/downstairs master) preferably less than 10 yrs old

Price: max. $300k

There are some options for you - one question, would you consider SC as well?

Ft Mill South Carolina - Better taxes, more choice for lots 1 + acre, very convenient to Arrowood.
Carrowinds is close too!

There are a few in area 7, (Steele Creek area) which would be closest for your work, but I would definitely consider South Carolina -- some listings in Fort Mill, Rock Hill, Clover and York. Have your realtor send you the listings that meet your criteria.

Actually Loves, there are two that meet the OP's criteria, one is in a subdivision and I would need to pull the CC&R's to find out what the rules are in that neighborhood. If the OP considers older homes there are (obviously!) more options, some in York and some in Lancaster County but with a Fort Mill address. I didn't think there would be anything, but once I checked the MLS there are some options.
