Default Matthews vs Stallings vs Indian Trail House Rental?

My wife will be flying in from Houston next week for our whirlwind hunt for a house to rent. We will have 2 days to do this. We will be working just South of I-277 at Hawthorne Lane building some new apartments. We would like something close, but will most likely decide on the 3 areas listed above.

This is mainly due to I need an open sky for Directv to work. Most of the areas close to work will have grown trees that will block this. Also we have always liked the atmosphere of the smaller towns. Right now I have also been looking at the Kingstree Subdivision that is out close to I-485.

Which way will have the worst traffic-going down Hwy. 74 or Ablemarle(sp) to past I-485 area? It seems like the Stallings/Indian Trail areas may even be more to our liking, but how much further is this from the Margaret-Wallace area?

It is just the 2 of us and it seems like most of the houses for rent are way to big for us. A 3 B/R ranch style would be perfect and I have a few to look at and this is why the smaller towns are better.

My main question is concerning traffic. We will be leaving in the morning around 6 to 6:30, but will always be coming back home in the middle of rush hour.

There is one house that we may look at around the Charlotte Country Club, but do not know anything about that area.

I have had quite a bit of help from this board and appreciate all of it. Just trying to pick everyones brain one more time before we take the trip over there.

Thanks,

Raymond

If you buy in Indian Trail/Stallings/Hemby Bridge, the best way to get to margaret wallace would be idlewild. you would not hit 74 at all and cross over 485. Depending the time of day, traffic is not bad at all. I use to go 74 and thought it was equal but it is not. Idlewild is much quicker especially at 6am.

I'm sorry Bear, you won't have much luck finding a home with a neighborhood pool in that price range in those areas. You MIGHT find a townhome, would that work for you?

Otherwise, you could try going further out from Charlotte - I heard Centex is building out in Gastonia starting at the $118's, a place called Somerset at Willow Creek.
