In the employment office off Monroe Rd there are signs from the state of Kansas saying they're hiring. Kind of weird. Apparently there are tons of jobs available there.

Depends on what part of Kansas - and what type of jobs. I loved living in Kansas but I lived in a border county and my house was only 18 miles f/ the middle of Kansas City, MO. I would not have loved living in KS if I had lived in many towns in the rest of the state. Not meaning to upset anyone, but that is just how I felt. I would move back to Johnson County, KS . . . but even if you doubled my salary, don't think you could get me to many of the other areas of the state.
So could you tell what kind of jobs were being offered??? I am very curious about this. Pipeline? Green energy?

We had to do that for a while. Sometimes you gotta go where the work is, but that doesn't mean it is a FOREVER thing!!!

It only feels like forever when you know you won't be "home" until you get back Right now I am SOOOO praying we don't have to go to Syracruise, NY - which is where the current best job opportunity is for my husband.

I've lived here fore 2 years now and am very happy with the move. Granted, this is where my husband and I found good jobs, that we couldn't in MI. I moved from the Detroit area, and although there are things that I miss, I do love it here. I love than I can go to the Ocean and the weather here. If my family was here it would be excellent. I do not like that my pay is lower/insurance/retirement isn't as good as if I could have gotten a job in MI, but I didn't- so I can't compare and complain.

I am so glad you feel good about your move here. As you said - you have to weigh it all out. The hardest thing is often being away from family/friends. It helps if you can visit but that is not always easy to work out. I am so glad we have email . . . it really helps to stay in touch.
