I know parts of Union County are unincorporated and I think can be seized or taken over, so to speak, by neighboring towns. But in Winding Creek the addresses of the older homes is Monroe and the new ones being built by Ryan are in Wesley Chapel. Is that normal? Also, how does that affect resale? I read on the forum that Monroe has more crime than other areas of Union County. Does Winding Creek fall into that category or is it considered to be in the safer area of Wesley Chapel? Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.

When we lived in Pennsylvania, there was a neighborhood down the road. Half was in Delaware and half was in Pennsylvania. Now THAT was confusing, lol! Our house was within 2 minutes of both the Delaware and Maryland state lines. (This doesn't really answer your question, I just thought you may find it interesting!)

We now live in Wesley Chapel. Since we have no post office, Wesley Chapel mailing addresses are either Waxhaw or Monroe. I'm guessing that the new Ryan section will also have a Monroe mailing address, and that the old section is actually located in Wesley Chapel, it just has a Monroe mailing address.

It took us a little while to realize that we really DO live in Wesley Chapel, we just cant get our mail here.

Wow, this is confusing. Thanks all for the info. So if the homes in Winding Creek are in Wesley Chapel but have a Monroe address what type of taxes do they pay - state, county, city?
