Mullman, your fish tanks are indeed beautiful! Thanks for sharing. I'm a long way from all this though, I am a fledgling fish-keeper, struggling (have been posting on the pet forum) with my first fish- a Betta (named Pepper) that I got couple weeks ago. He currently seems happy in his 1 gal jar, but I feel cruel as though I have confined him to a cell. Besides my son adding a rather large anemone has eaten up all his swimming space! Lol! Am thinking of a 10gal tank. We are actually headed to Fintastic this afternoon. Thanks.

Will also check out all the other suggestions over the week. Thanks so much everyone.

BUMP:

Other than Fintastic, any new freshwater fish places? Just saw on their site they are closed?

There's an awesome saltwater store in Matthews off of Mathews Township Parkway next to Best Buy there. But we have freshwater and looking for a non chain store. Somewhere South of uptown preferably. Even from a fish farm. I used to buy my fish from a farm down in Miami. It was the coolest place, is there anything like that up here?

Default Fish Store

There is a newish fish store in Huntersville called Upscale Aquatics. I've bought a few freshwater fish there and they have a great selection of saltwater. Their pricing seems to be competitive on both hardware and fish. They are on Statesville Road off of exit 23 hwy 77. I understand that it's not south of uptown, but it's an easy commute up 77 on the weekend usually.
