Wrong concept for Blakney. Food was good, prices weren't. Brixx, Encore and 131 Main were too much competition for what they had to offer.

My husband and I went to Sugar Magnolia for lunch a few months ago. I was very looking forward to it as I love their food. We got there at 1:45pm which should have been OK as they serve lunch from 12 to 2pm. Two ladies got there at the same time as us. The waitress told us all - in a very unpleasant way on top of it - that it was too late and they were not serving anymore. They basically refused 4 customers, which really surprised me in these difficult times. So...

For the prices I thought they were just ok, in that price range I'd rather drive a little and go to Mickey and Mooches. Their fried green tomatoes were really good tho.

I always got their vegetable plate... they had such good fried okra :-(

sad to see it go, but I do agree the prices were a little steep
