Obv a story that isn't political isn't going to have a political slant, but look at the candidates these papers back come election time and read the political stories.

Best paper is Wall Street Journal, hands down

I agree that the Observer sux btw. LOL.
We subscribe to the WSJ . . . read it every morning b/f I do anything else. I agree - it is the best use of ink, paper and talent on the stands.

Please do! I get paid more per paper for the WSJ deliveries, and they only have to be delivered six days a week. I'd love to go back to the days when I used to deliver nothing but the WSJ (300+ a day). Now that was a great part-time job.

why do the tighty righties ALWAYS confuse a news story with an EDITORIAL page???? and...the Tribune Company not liberal, WSJ and NY post (fox owned) - Pittsburgh Post owned by Richard Mellon Scaif (can't get more right)- mcclatchy (not liberal)....so, there goes that theory...

oh excuse me! An editorial page then. Fine. And where did I say that ALL media outlets were liberal owned? I didn't. I said," the majority" and that IS true.

No I don't watch Fox news all day long . When I watch news channels I watch Fox, CNN, and MSNBC. I like to get a good mix of viewpoints.

Just as confusing are those who listen to NPR, get their news from The Daily Show, hold Keith Olbermann's opinion as gospel and believe that they're better informed. But those outlets aren't slanted left. Of course not, they're telling the truth.

I don't think most of the owners are liberal. Most of the writers and editors might lean a little more to the left, but it's just the nature of the field (low pay compared to people with similar educations, "service" work with a mission). That comes through sometimes where it shouldn't, and probably more last November than most because EVERYONE was sick of Bush, but there is no deliberate spin put on most of the stories. How many of those stories were AP copy, too?

...Most of the reporters I know do not easily swallow bs from politicians of any group. And there were more than a few with a libertarian bent.

I subscibed to both the Rock Hill Herald and Charlotte Observer when I moved here in 2005...w/in 2 yrs I cancelled the Herald, and last year, I cancelled the O....there is no reason now to get any paper...the only 2 worth reading anymore are the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times which is still the most respected newspaper the world over.

The same problems are happening at the Cleveland Plain Dealer and Columbus Dispatch in Ohio.

Today alone the food critic wrote about a DC restaurant with Carolinas roots? Very short review btw, who cares??!! How about some reviews or revisits to some of the many good restaurants around town which can certainly benefit from added good publicity.
And the list goes on and on. Don't even get me started with the sports writers. Terrible!!
I really miss the Washington Post. I agree with you 100% percent!
