Mert's Heart and Soul Sunday Brunch - Menu
Anybody ever had the Sunday brunch at Mert's? I was thinking of taking the wife there this coming Sunday morning but I want to get an idea of the menu beforehand (they only have lunch/dinner on their website). I'm born-southern and would probably like anything on the menu, but the wife's from WI and is therefore not as "cultured."
I want to get an idea of what they have before I commit to checking it out. Appreciate any thoughts and comments!

The last 2-3 times I've gone to Merts, I have been disappointed. I enjoyed them when I moved here. I last went Summer 08 so prehaps they've fixed their issues.

Was your visit for breakfast? If so, what did they serve?

I'm fairly certain that the brunch menu had traditional breakfast things...eggs, pancakes, etc. I'm just going from a flash instance of memory here too! Just a glance at the menu last time I was there. Speaking of which...I need to head back for lunch here soon...

Thanks, steve...
I picked up the recommendation from a search on other threads here about good breakfast places, and Mert's was the only one that I saw that was down/uptown. It was a short walk from our hotel so it sounded like a good option, but I wanted to make sure the breakfast was a)good and b) something my wife might like. I mean, I'd be fine with biscuits, country ham, red-eye gravy, grits, liver pudding, etc...but she might not cotton to it as much.

No, lunch and dinner.
The wait was long, orders were incorrect, several dishes were not tasty. I don't see how you can mess up breakfast food, but I didn't know you mess up basics like mac-n-cheese, corn bread, fried chicken and catfish. ;-) My comments reflect my last experiences. Prehaps someone has been recently and can give you a better reccomendation.

This is identical to my two experiences there. Both times I left wondering what all the fuss was about. Last visit would've been about this time last year. I recall a number of other patrons were visitors from out of town, at least one was told he had to visit by a cab driver.
