John dishes, and John can take it. And John's a deliberate troller. I don't really agree with his politics or style and definitely don't "love" him...

But I think he's a nice enough guy when he's not purposely rabble-rousing. I hardly think he needs someone to defend him. If he wants to dip into national politics on the local forum over and over again he will generate some ill-will. That's why polite southerners don't usually discuss politics.

Well, I would say I love you, too, Native Son . . . cause I do. I love our forum and want everyone to get along. I like spreading the L O V E!!!! We don't have to all see eye to eye and John certainly enjoys getting things stirred up . . . wh/ I don't usually find problematic.

Sometimes, methinks it is best not to take things personally, and sometimes, many of us do take stuff personally (even when it was not meant for any one person in particular).

Now, I don't know, NativeSon, but in my family and in my circle of friends, we all discuss politics vociferously. I think that is a good thing . . . cause often I find, people THINK they don't agree, but when it comes to the basics, most people want the same things. The differences usually come in "how to get there from here." Unfortunately, when things get heated it often changes from a debate of ideas, to something more personal, and that is where feelings get hurt.
