I know some folks have posted in the past about wanting to adopt a pet. I was at Petsmart today in Concord at the Afton Village Shopping Center and they have so many adorable kittens up for adoption....I wanted to adopt them all! Petsmart actually does not sell them. The adoption goes through Second Chance Kitten and they are there at 4:30 during the week or you can call to set up an appointment.
I adopted my kitty from them last year and am considering getting her a playmate (fell in love with one today!) Their website is secondchancekitten.com
Just wanted to post this in case anyone wanted to give one of these kittens a home.

Please also go to the animal shelter. (see my other thread on the subject). They are being inundated and are having to put many down due to lack of space!

Default New Addition has been added!

I adopted our new fur-kid last night....she is 4 months old and I think she'll make a great addition to our family and good playmate for our other fur-kid!
She has a sister (Betty) who also needs a home. I wish I could have adopted both but it wasn't a possibility and I really felt guilty about it so I'm going to advocate for her here real quick!!!
Betty is already spayed and had many of her shots. She isn't a "baby" but is still young at only 4 months and weighs only 4 lbs. I'm worried that since she is bigger than the rest of the kitties that she'll be over looked but hopefully someone, like myself, will be looking for a cat her age and it was a plus for me she had already been spayed. She was sweet and didn't mind being held at all. Here she is: Adopt a Tabby - Grey: Betty: Petfinder
Just wanted to share my good news and hopefully help Betty find her home too!
Thanks to all who can spread the word and maybe provide a home for any animal in need

Betty is absolutely adorable! So lively looking and sweet. I agree it is tragic that so many are without homes. My friend here in Pfafftown has 4 little ones, just 3 weeks old, under his shed. They were crawling all over us last night. Our friend had been trying to get near the mother to get her spayed, but she won't go near people at all.

If anyone is interested in adopting, I would send a picture. I work in Charlotte and come home on weekends.

There were a lot of cute kittens at the Petsmart in Monroe today, too. We can't have animals where we are renting and my son is allergic to cats. Now he wants a guinea pig!!
