For folks trying to sell their homes, how has your "showing" traffic been in the past few weeks? Last month, we had over 300 hits to our MLS, over 100 people sign up for the 1st to know list, and between Zillow, Kijiji, and Oodle an additional +250 people click on our listing. All of these sites showed the price and the # of bedrooms (3) before people clicked. We have had a couple of showings. An out of town couple loved our house but, can't decide if they want to buy now or wait till the end of the summer. We are priced below our comps in the neighborhood and the $/sq. foot that houses have recently sold in our neighborhood. Flyers are being taken out of our information box. We have a warranty and job protection plan included with the house. Any idea what are people waiting for? Do you think that things will p/u at all this summer? We are in a quiet neighborhood up in Huntersville, on a cul-de-sac with lots of upgrades. Our realtor had an agent's tour and everyone loved the house and thought it showed well.
Good luck to you. It sounds like you're doing all the right things. Personally I don't think things are going to pick up this summer. There still should be some job transfers though. We have a lot for sale and not one call. We're not giving it away though either so we're going to buy it ourselves and hold it until things turn around.
Honestly we never sold our house and are just going to lease it for a year. That *may* wind up being an option for you. It is so frustrating. I totally feel your pain about trying to sell. Just hang in there. I just don't have anything else to help. Sorry .
My instincts are that homes under $150K and actually in the $130's or below are the ones getting lots of traffic. The $8K is helping those first time home buyers and your might be out of range of most of them. Ours is listed at $139,700 and we have had a lot of showings (over 10 in 2 weeks time). I think it will eventually ripple up to your home. For instance once we sell our house we are buying in a more expensive range... Good luck to you!
I have to agree. Homes under 150 are seeing lots of traffic right now. Ours is priced at 140 and we have seen quite a few showings over the last couple of week and we just got 2 offers on it in the last week, one of which we are going to accept. Things will hopefully pick up for you. Somebody will see your house and love it as much as you. That is what I have been telling myself since our home has been on the market for almost 7 months now. It will happen in time.

Just want to say congrats!!! It gives me hope that we will be under contract soon!
Sales are very strong. I try to buy a house every 2 weeks. Coming across WAYYYYYYYYY too much competion. Starting to think about a new way to put food on my table.
My realtor tells me folks are having trouble qualifying for mortgages. It seems you need 720-750 credit score to get financing these days. (should I believe him?)

No that is not true... It depends on many factors.
