Where Should I live?! I don't know!
Hi All:
I feel like this forum houses lots of questions like this, so here i go!
I'm relocating (most likely this fall). I will be working pretty close to Charlotte's city center and need some help i where i should live.
I currently live in Minneapolis and love it. I live in a highly walkable neighborhood with great food and entertainment. It's a very diverse neighborhood, young and old, gay and straight, rich and poor. A great city atmosphere. I love the fact that my neighborhood has an independent spirit. Locally owned theaters, eateries, and galleries are all over the place!
Any place in Charlotte that will give me this fun, walkable, urban, cultural experience?
Any help would be much appreciated!
thank you!

NoDa seems to fit the bill, although I'm not sure size-wise how it would compare to the area where you currently live.

Check out: Plaza-Midwood, NODA, Dilworth, South End. They are about as close to MPLS as you will find.

Elizabeth or Plaza Midwood would be a great choice...or if you can swing it financially, I would suggest Uptown (downtown Charlotte).

Lemme narrow it down for you even further. Plaza Midwood. It's the most eclectic, liberal, and diverse with a good walking business district that has a bank, post office, pharmacy, grocery store, bakery, churches, bars, and several restaurants and shops. By far the best neighborhood in Charlotte. (I'm biased)

Idecharlotte--Yup, you're biased. I personally think South End is by far the best neighborhood in Charlotte! Seriously, OP, check out South End. There are hundreds of units of brand new, beautiful apartments going up here right now. If you don't want an apartment and want to meet people, sometimes people rent rooms in their condos or townhouses. It's urban, you can walk to all the independently owned bars and restaurants, eclectic art galleries, and such. You also have access to the light rail here (won't get that in Plaza Midwood!) AND you can walk into Uptown if the light rail isn't your thing.

Wait until you see what most of the houses look like.
I'd stay in MN if I were you.
