Just ret. from dinner with my best friends. Spirited conversation about politics and world problems.

Got me thinking about what most people talk about over dinner when having a nite out.

I sure its a lot different given the occasion or the company but in general. . .

Depending on who you're dining with: religion, arts, children, family, sports, food, work relationships and such. It all depends on the guest you are dining with. The list could be long.

When we were in CA we went to dinner every Firday night with another couple (for years). She was a probation officer so the stories were great! As were the margarita's, ohh Cadillac Margarita's, I miss those.

If it's just me and the husband, we'll talk about anything under the sun. Communication is good in our house.

The reason other people are still friends is because we steer clear of politics and world problems in conversation!

We spend time catching up with what's going on in everyone's life. Then it usually turns to movies and tv shows, followed up by places we have been recently and/or funny anecdotes. It generally stays light and humorous.

When we get together with family, it usually ends in hilarity. My parents are a trip and a half, and my sisters and I inherited their sense of humor.

It's best to avoid religion and politics, rather than branded a right-wing radical.

Mostly I give discourses on Roman emperors or discuss stupid things like who's kissing whose bum in the office building.

Or, non-offensive topics like the decline of the bengal tigers in the wild. This is the ONLY thing which everyone on the table can empathize with LMAO. Everyone loves tigers, even the waiters/waitresses

The population of Antarctica is a good topic too.
