Small quaint town in Charlotte suburb wanted
We are one of the many couples considering relocation in your beautiful city. We are coming through the area in search of a place to reside in late July. My husband is a computer programmer working from home, I am a psychotherapist and would like to start a practice in my new home town. We are in our mid forties and love a small walk about town with restaurants, bookstores, shops etc. to live in. It would be great to have access to downtown Charlotte within an hour's drive. We hope to rent a town house, loft or apartment in that little city until we are sure of location.
We would also love to connect with a Realtor to help search the area with the intent of eventually buying. Any help would be so appreciated.

As a resident of Rowan county, I'll suggest Salisbury...

Well, I would need more info on what you consider "small and quaint." Also, I am sure you would want in an area where you could establish a thriving practice - and that may not be possible in the majority of small towns in this region.

The first thing that comes to mind for me is Davidson. It's a fairly small college town with a really cute downtown area.

Yes Davidson. East Cornelius is a good runner-up.

I agree w/ Davidson. The downtown parts of Cornelius and Concord are really cute too.

The Greens at Birkdale Village. Huntersville Exit 28-I77 0.5 miles west turn R. Everything you request plus a number of houses to rent. Very high "walkability score."
