Default Aldi Store in Marvin????

I heard today that Harris Teeter had backed out of the plan to build a new store at the old proposed Super Walmart site on Rea Rd at Tom Short. A real estate guy told me that Aldi was considering the site, but I can't imagine. I think he was joking but he swore by it.

Can you imagine what that crowd out there would do? An Aldi? OMG! Might was well put a Dollar Tree while they are at it and really get the neighborhood in a tizzy.

I LOVE ALDI! They are European (German) and have great prices!

Well, ya know . . . I would assume those homeowners have always known it was more a matter of picking their poison . . . SOMETHING is gonna be built there!!!!

Aldi is awesome. I was told they are linked with Trader Joe's.

Have you ever been to one? Their food and prices are really good.

Probably people that live in the neighborhood? ALDI has great prices, are you afraid the poor people are going to come from far and wide? Most people stick to their own 'hood when shopping. I wouldn't worry too much.

Very interesting:

Trader Joe's was founded by Joe Coulombe and is currently owned by a family trust set up by German billionaire Theo Albrecht, one of the two brothers behind the German supermarket chain Aldi.

I did not know that. I knew about Aldi being German and Theo being one of the worlds wealthiest.

I think we have enough Teeters, CVS etc in the area for goodness sake.

I know, I do too. I will definitely go to the one in Marvin if this is true since it's so close.

We go to the one in Matthews. I wish I had one closer. I think the Matthews store is maybe 8 miles from my house.
