Does anyone have the names of a reputable a/c repair person? I think the entire unit is shot and needs to be fixed in its entirety. We need someone in the Lake Norman area.

Also, do you know anything about tax credits for an energy efficient system and how that works?

I have used Kirkland heating and air for some time. Last week, actually. The repair person misdiagnosed the problem and discovered another (real) problem after completing repairs. He was honest, and didn't charge for the original misdiagnosed services which was great as I wouldn't have known that it was his error. I would certainly classify them as reputable.

I found a good company the other day. Actually made a post about it. They are Hodge HVAC. They are local in Lake Norman, so in many cases you will talk to the owner. They had some coupons go out with like $300 off a full install the other day.

Here is the link.
Air Cleaning, Free Estimates, Hodge Heating and Air Conditioning of Lake Norman Inc., Cornelius, NC (http://www.hodgehvac.com/page5.html - broken link)

Bechman Mechanical ... the main tech is a retired AreoSpace enginer (Terry). Nice guy. Knows his stuff. He is working just because he likes to work, figure things out, fix things. A real life geek.
