Hi, I am visiting my sister soon to see IF I want to move to Charlotte or not. I am woefully underfunded to buy a home, but still want to. In the 65K range. Yep, you read right. lol. BUT, I have seen small, cosmetically needy properties. I do Not want to live in a mobile home (modular OK), or condo type unit, no HOA fees.

Looking for an agent that will understand my issues, knowledgeable in foreclosures, short sales, etc. and my price range. Of course I want a sound house, good bones, etc. I will have about 40K from the sale of my existing house in florida, that is the HALF I split with my sister when we sell. Probably get more, the house is in an excellent, safe area and just small, hence will only get about 95K.

I've done some research where real est. co's are sending me emails with my house search results. But no committment. I believe in being fair to these agents and when I commit, I'll stick with one.
I am wanting to look AROUND the Huntersville area, Cabarrus county.

Finding a recommended RE agent would help. I like Keller-william's expertise, but it's really the agent that counts. And I understand some agents "niche" might be the type I'm needing to look at.

SO SORRY for the long post, wanted to give yall a gist of what I'm trying to do. ALL the best and thanks in advance for any replies. Go Panthers!

Be aware that 65k is not going to get you in a very desirable area.

Thanks for imput. But "desirable" can mean a few things. I know I won't get a gated, upscale place, but are u mostly speaking of "safety" and/or run down neighborhoods? Some of the rural properties I saw looked okay.

I did a quick search and it depends on what you want and if you are commuting to work. But yes it is possible to find rural and really rural places in that range. And the houses will be fixer uppers as well. As for a realtor, I don't know of any in those areas but on the ones you saw that you liked listed, I would contact THAT realtor as they would be most likely familiar with that area. Especially if their office is there.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the advice, it all helps. That's why I LOVE forums!! I have a realtor now, after visiting my sister in Charlotte. She seems to know the neighborhoods to avoid. I will probably have to look a bit further out - but that's ok. Probably Cabarras, maybe Gaston counties. Appreciate the help and I will continue using this forum, as yall really come thru. deb
